Okay, so a week ago I posted a rant about my recent experiences with Facebook and my concerns over general privacy if you haven’t read that and are interested you can do so by clicking here.
A week after (yeah not long)… my account suddenly appears again. What! Yeah, I was so shocked… sitting in the Apple shop watching a presentation browsing on my iPad on my new Facebook, when I see my old profile as a mutual friend… and was shocked to find the profile and everything on it was working. To this date, I have no idea why the profile disappeared or why it reappeared and what happened in the middle. I’d love to ask somebody, but Facebook don’t care about me anyway and I can’t contact them, so I’ll never know.
Earlier today, I received the following email from ‘The Facebook Team’…
I was shocked and again, disappointed. Has it really took them all this time to check my ID, or did they read my blog and wake up? Who knows. Anyway, it’s now ironic that because of their poor service I now have two profiles (which breaks their Terms of Service) – how joyful, eh?
Anyway, to return to my original point – be careful what you put on Facebook and please don’t rely upon it. I think with issues like this happening more and more often and international privacy concerns being taken to court – Facebook will become another platform which grows old, hopefully very soon. Trust another platform like Twitter – you can follow me by clicking here.
